Campground and Dogs

As some may know from personal experience, talking with other dog owners or reading campground websites. Many campgrounds ban certain breeds. The reason it most cases is insurance. Here is a link to the breeds that are the most difficult to insure:

We have a two year old German Shepherd female that travels with us. We have been told upon making reservations that she must be muzzled at all times but this has never been enforced once we arrive and walk with her. She is registered as an emotional support dog for my wife and we carry paperwork along with a service dog in training vest. We have been asked to see her papers only twice. I run with her in the mornings and along with our frequent walks with her, most people only comment on how beautiful and well behaved she is. Click image for larger version

Campground and Dogs

Maybe not my daughter's Czechoslovakian German Male. He's 9 months old and 75 pounds and looks a bit to much on the "killer" side. Click image for larger version

You won't convince me of that!!! (cannot stop laughing when I look at that picture) Fortunately, the state parks we visit are dog-friendly- our 75lb. yellow lab loves her spot in the trailer- stretched out right in the corridor

Don't let wolves in sheep's clothing fool you! Believe me, these two can take care of any small rodent or Canada goose problem! Great with cats though!

Our miniature dachshunds are incredible guard dogs. They will alert any time someone else walks by the trailer walking another dog. They seem to think it's very unfair that other dogs can be on a walk while they are inside the trailer. If someone comes to our door, all they want to know is the person bearing treats, and if not, is there any way they could be induced to give belly rubs.

When making reservations I have been told a couple of times dogs needed to have records of current vacinations. They do and I don't have a problem with that. But, I have never been asked at the campground anything about vaccinations.
