They do make a cat model although I haven't see those in the stores.

Sorry for the beginnings of a rant! I get that way after car shopping... I'll stop right now - being fleeced is part of the daily grind up here eh?

With the exception of prescription meds I'm told...

But fleecing with the Furminator? Now that's a different story!

Hey, that's not just a Canadian thing...that happens here in the U.S. every time we go to buy a car. Or at least it seems that way to me! And I didn't mean to rain on your rant...we all deserve a good rant now and then...it helps to keep the blood pressure in check.

What kind of car are you shopping for? May as well hijack this thread properly.

Hi Jack, I did buy the cat model. It is blue and says "for cats" on the pkg. I love it, does wonders for the clean floors to hairball ratio.

Gad - I'm the one who started the hijacking - on my own thread!

I was shopping for anything that would have decent gas mileage - I was really eyeing the new Mini Cooper Clubman, but thought it was too new. No room for price negotiations. So ended up with a sporty little Civic coupe Si.

Of course, it's not really mine - it's for my husband to use as his 2nd vehicle when he doesn't need his gas guzzling truck. I use a gas guzzling Jeep Liberty... maybe I should get myself a Mini Cooper... hmmm....

Maybe with all the money I save on grooming costs 'cause of the Furminator, I can afford another zippy little car!

Or else I can buy 'em in bulk south of the border and sell them for a profit up here! now there's an idea...

How about a motorcycle? They're so much more fun than little cars!

I was very very close to signing up for classes to get my motorcycle license - I really love Vespa Scooters, especially the real fast ones (relatively speaking of course).

But then I had to go skiing and catch an edge, fall and tear my ACL, requiring surgery. Am currently in the throes of lovely rehab for my knee.

The motorcycle thing will have to wait for a wee bit...

furminator

I bought one about a month ago for our 2 wire-haired fox terriers. It has worked wonders and does a great job acting as a stripping knife. It pulls the soft undercoat leaving the "wire". Great product. We saw a cheaper one at St. Louis home show and it had a detangler on one side and then regular teeth on the other. As we had just bought ours, we just looked but didn't buy.

I'm sorry to hear about your knee. I'm a fan of the old Vespas and Lambrettas. There are quite a few 'Mods' in this city who tear around on them every Sunday.

We usually tow a VW thing but are going to retire it to Mexico and got the mini as our new toad. Got it from a consignment dealer for a good price, he probably did not realize what the JCW adds to the car--------it is wicked quick!
On the furnminator side: I am amazed at how much hair comes off our smooth coated basset-----he just lays down and lets me groom. We also have a long haired basset and I think I have shedded off at least a pound of hair-----and we are still getting hair off!
