Sorry for your loss

It is very hard losing a member of your family......we lost our dog 10 years ago and have just had the courage to adopt a 2 year old boxer rescue dog two months ago....we named him Bandit......as he has stolen our hearts......so sorry for your Bandit. Paula

I've been back to your post half a dozen times today trying to find the words, but they fail me. Suffice to say that I appreciate how important a member of the family Bandit was and on behalf of our 14 yr old Lab, Emmie, we're sorry for your loss.

There are no words. Took us years due to the pain to get another dog when we lost our boxer "Lucy".

"Heaven goes by favor; if it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in."

I'm sure you and Jan are going to miss your little girl. Just remember the good memories and show your love to the other two. I know the miss her and don't understand . They need all the love you can give them.

We've had four Airstreams and four dogs; we understand your grief.

With a heavy heart I read your post. I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet companion, Bandit.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

This is beautiful. Thanks for the post. It is a tribute to not only Bandit, but to all of our other beloved animals.

Sammy

This has been a sad but comforting thread, as we share your grief at losing Bandit. We lost our dear Sammy today, and will so miss his happy little being. He absolutely loved it when we pulled up the Airstream to get it ready for a trip. All gophers and moles were safe while he sat in high-alert on the porch, waiting for the "OK, Lets go!"
Our hearts are with you.

Same here, I didn't see this until today. To Bandit's and Sammy's owners, I'm so sorry. You have my sympathy. There are few things more difficult than losing such good K9 friends.

My sympathy for your loss. I never forget my friends, and sometimes I still hear them around the house. He was surely cute!
