No problem, we travel with Beagle Bailey Cook, who is very well trained and a good travel companion. I use an electronic leash, which is a wonderful tool.....
He stays be my left leg, and I carry plastic bags to pick up his "deposits"......

Dogs are the best people,

Well Trained Dog Opens Gate in Parks & Hearts

I own a working dog and a Therapy dog too. I am glad someone brought to you, to all us, attention that faking a service dog, and/or it being needed is not the way to go. Besides, we should watch what we want, it may happens.

I and my working animal suffer often grievances in public places mostly due to misunderstanding of the law. More often as a result of the lack of credibility that lying over a disability, and the fake working dog attached to it create in public places to workers, owners, authorities, and public in general.

A better way,

Train your dogs more than you think you need or imagine. I learned that I well trained dog, a obedient one, will attract positive attention to your pursuit and more. When a dog is obedient and able to act calm regarless of the environment and in presence of other animals, the public and the gate keepers, etc may react in awe toward the animal. It may open more doors and keep other pet owners in check over potential complaints upon your "special treatment". Besides that, your animals, the wild life, and the public may interact safely and better. You may find an amazing treasure on the dogs you already love. All resources such as swept, treasure, and time you invest on then pursuing a well training dog in the public sphere and eyes, WILL BE awesomely return to you and your life style. A new paradigm of what and where you may do and share with you 4 legs friends, family. 👍🐶🐕🐩

There are so many occasions where dog owners break or bend the rules because "they're part of the family" or "they wouldn't hurt a fly" or for whatever other reason that they convince themselves is good enough to make their particular case special. It drives me nuts.

I get that people love their dogs, I like dogs myself, but they are NOT people. They are NOT your kids, they are not humans, they are dogs.

I'm glad my dog can't read...he would be offended at your comments!

My dog CAN read and she is deeply offended!

Actually the point is well taken. I love my Daisy girl but unless she's inside my home or trailer, in my fenced in backyard or a public off-leash dog park, she's on a leash and I'm carrying plastic poop bags.

Dogs are mirrors of their owners, which is probably why they have been a part of human society since long before recorded history. If you treat them like dogs, they will act like dogs; if you treat them like humans, they will act like humans (for good or bad). If you treat them as irresponsible, they will act irresponsibly; if you expect them to act responsibly, they will. As has been mentioned, dogs don't really care whether they are on or off leash, whether they are trained or untrained, responsible or irresponsible. They just want to be part of a pack which includes knowing what the rules of the pack are, to be fed regularly, and to work and play (depending on the breed, I guess).

Reply: Yes, my dogs are NOT kids -- they are better than kids!!! They are so much more -- they give love and ask for very little in return.

Well, yes. She becomes quite absorbed in the doggie newspapers she finds on the corners of buildings and certain shrubs.

The can both spell. for example: W-A-L-K, C-A-R, O-U-T, E-A-T. They are still Working on the reading piece.
