Thanks everyone for your feedback! I'm definitely going with the ASD. Thankfully dad is a retired driver and is offering lessons!

Electronic Sway Control is nothing but renamed Electronic Stability Control. It's a much, much better idea to solve the problem before it occurs with an anti-sway hitch, not deal with it once it has already happened.

The trailer mounted electronic AS is faster than those in TV. Not expensive, and a good pairing with an integrated anti sway hitch.
