This issue came up several years ago and it was found that many Equil-i-zer hitch installations done by many dealers (mine included) were incorrectly done on Airstreams due to the position of the gas line. Many dealers did not mount the bolt in the hole below the frame, and the only way to do it right was to put a bend in the gas line. Equal-i-zer confirmed that skipping the hole due to the gas line could cause a problem which might cause the bracket to shift on the A frame. I did point this out to my dealer who was not aware that Equail-i-zer did not approve the "hole below" installation and offered to remount my bracket correctly at no charge.
