remember water is heavy so if you want to keep weight down while towing have all tanks empty. Add a little to fresh water tank so you can flush if necessary.

I try to travel with empty holding tanks and full water tank. Never can tell where the journey takes me. Might end up with no utilities or services for a few days.

Same as AWChIEF. Why drag around a bathroom if you can't use it. Empty holding, full water and propane. And some grub. iPad loaded with all manuals that are applicable to anything in your Airstream that has one. And make sure that somebody in your family can find your dot if you have cell service. Jim

Yes, but ..... a few flushes only takes a few gallons. Must admit, someday we'll be without water and just have to throw away the paper plates, wait a couple of days to wash the flatware, and take a shower at the next stop. Ah, come to think about it, that's what we do now. Guess 10 gallons and some bottled drinking water will work. Just don't forget a stash for the coffee water too.

All kidding aside. The bottled water can be stored in a location that balances the coach. A full water tank is, where it is. If that is acceptable for your payload, go for it. There is no down side of any consequence in that case. However, if payload or balance is an issue, consider the alternative. It is your choice. Pat

I totally agree with the waste tanks empty and the fresh tank full! You never know where the day will lead you! After all isn't that why we lug these things around? To be comfortable?

Airstreams tow better with a full tank of water. The weight of the water lowers an already low centre of gravity even more.

I echo the sentiment that I don't see the point of travelling with a trailer if I can't stop wherever I feel like. We had many an occasion where we were glad to have a fridge full of food and a tank full of water, (and solar on the roof) simply because we came across something interesting.

My question is: When I take delivery of my new 30' FC, I will need to weigh it. So.....
Is the empty weight considered to be with the fresh tank empty or full??

If your weighing it for the powers-that-be so they can charge you more for the registration go with the closet door numbers.
