WDH Recommedations
We hope to purchase a 2014 flying Cloud 25 within the next two weeks. I have researched my TV towing/cargo capabilities and feel good to proceed with the purchase. Next big step is the WDH.
I have a 2013 F 150 4x4 Supercrew shortbed with 5.0L V8, 3.55 rear end.
My current hitch from my last trailer is a Fastway Ez, which worked great with my 22' TT. I am considering the propride3. How much does it add to the tongue weight or cargo payload? Is there a better alternative?

There must be a gazillion posts on this subject. You need to sift through those before rely on a few posts in this thread.

Welcome and good morning. Being that you will be towing a 7,000 + pound trailer with a half ton truck, I would highly recommend a quality weight distribution/sway control hitch system. I like the ProPride and the Hensley, but many members here are satisfied with the Reese and Equalizer.
We have a 2005 Safari 25FB that we have used extensively (1,380 nights/120,000 miles). We have had the Hensley Arrow since new and have been very satisfied with its performance. We have never experienced any sway whatsoever. The Hensley can be a little tricky to hook-up sometimes, but I feel that the performance is worth the effort.
I like the height adjustable hitch bar on the ProPride, and the ease of connection of the Reese and Equalizer.
Do your research here on the Forums, and take your time in choosing which is right for you.
Best wishes with your new Airstream.
Brian

Thanks already read hundreds of post here and on other forums. Hoping to hear some constructive input, particularly from anyone who has the same set up I will have.

Welcome Aboard...
Our Hensley head weights 100lbs, the PP should be comparable.
The only way to accurately determine real payload is using actual weights balanced against axle and tire load ratings.
Realize the factory weight specs are notoriously light, especially the tongue weight. You can comfortably add between 2 and 3 hundred pounds.
Our 25' Classic is 300-450 light depending on load.
The Hensley and PP are top of the line IMHO, you won't be disappointed.
Good Luck...
Bob

WDH and sway control are both important ...

Maybe this is too simple......but....
Fastway E2?
I'd give it a try and go from there.

We tow a 2012 Flying Cloud 25 with a 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 V8. Have used a Equal-I-Zer and Andersen Hitch, switched to ProPride and it's another league of comfort and control towing the Airstream, in all weather, semi traffic, and road conditions. A fringe benefit is the tail gate now opens fully.
Use the 1400# bars to ensure complete weight distribution, and the relatively small amount of added weight (the Hensley/ProPride extends the tongue length reducing load on your receiver) will be distributed among truck and trailer axles. The difference of ProPride to a "regular" w.d. is not a problem.
Only when you are hitched with your normal load will you be able to weigh the combo and know the weight of truck and trailer, and that's what matters.

I would say if you want the ProPride, go for it! That is the best...
