My truck was born in 2007 with towing mirrors.
The original owner did not want them and got regular chrome mirrors.
When I bought the truck used with 8,000 miles on it and then bought a travel trailer, I replaced the small chrome mirrors the first owner put on there with towing mirrors- what it had to start with.
If I ever buy another truck I will know what to get/what to look for.

Definite vote for the OEM Tundra mirrors. I did that on my 2011 after finding the CIPAs very difficult to get to mount securely. Loved the OEMs. Will get some for my replacement 2010 Tundra when we get back to camping.

Have never regretted it.

Are yours aftermarket? My dealer said they didn’t make Toyota brand? She said I’d lose the blind spot monitor.
I bought the CIPA set and don’t like them at all.

In 2007 they didn’t have blind spot monitoring anyway as far as I know.

I bought a set of aftermarket mirrors from 1AAuto.com for my 2013 Toyota Tundra Limited (it had heated mirrors, with puddle lights, power folding, all the bells and whistles). Installation was easy!
After I installed them the power folding didn't work--everything else worked, just not the power folding (which I needed to get my truck into and out of my garage). I called 1AAuto.com and was promptly told by the young woman that I shouldn't have plugged them into the factory harness--that could have damaged them, and that because of differences in factory harness pin-outs they couldn't guarantee all the functions would work. I asked to return them and she gave me an RMA, and when I went to FedEX to ship them back (at my cost) the shipping was half the price of the mirrors (they had been shipped free to me by 1AAuto.com).
I've bought other items from them since, but I wouldn't recommend their aftermarket brand of mirrors for your Tundra unless they are pretty much "manual" mirror with no bells or whistles. Better to go with the OEM mirrors.
I bought the CIPA mirrors (from Camping World) and they were difficult to keep attached to the OEM mirrors (because of the slanted design of the mirrors). I had to use sticky-backs and Ty-wraps to keep them on, but they worked great!
(I've since sold the Tundra and now tow with a Ram 3500 that has (manual) fold-out mirrors which are great--NO vibration at all.

None of the Tundra towing mirrors fold electrically, only manually.
I would think it would hurt a thing to plug into the factory harness.
The turn signal and power adjust for the top glass and defrost will still work.
The wire in the plug for the electric folding portion goes nowhere- no wire to connect to in the mirror’s harness.

I've lived with the clip on mirrors for two days and I'll give them a solid 8.5 out of 10. Quality is excellent and I do not see vibration...yet At that price I'll live with them and if they disappoint it is easy to order up OEM.

Not sure. I ordered them from a Toyota dealer and the boxes they came in had Toyota printed on the outside. And they certainly weren't inexpensive either but they make towing so much safer for me. Heated, has turn signals and upper mirror is power.

No one else has mentioned it. When I used clip-on mirrors -- before stepping up to proper trailering mirrors -- I always tied a slack safety line on the doggone mirrors (I used black mason line) and attached to the truck mirror. After all, if the frickin' clip-on mirror came off at 60 miles an hour, aside from likely damaging my vintage aluminum, it liked to kill somebody downstream.

Older Tundras won't support OEM style towing mirrors
The type I tundra 2000-2006 models won't accept a complete replacement of th e mirror with a new extendable type. Have to use a clip-on as far as I know. theres a rumour that later model Tacoma tow mirrors will fit. Anyone have experience?
I'm ordering the dometic clip-on Aero3 model. see what happens...

Truck tow mirrors
Just found these and think I will try them for our 2001 Toyota Tundra. Reviews are great. Look better than the clamp-on ones. They slide on and so you can use your inside mirror electric adjustment feature.

Nervous Newbie
I’m looking to buy my first AS , a 25 ‘ fb . I have a 5.7 Tundra which I’m confident is up to the task , just not sure of the driver -: the biggest thing I’ve pulled is a 7x 12 cargo trailer . The 25fb looks a little intimidating. Any advice for a nervous Newbie ?
Thanks y’all

Yeah.
Just go.
After driving five minutes you'll be thinking, "This thing tows great!"
As far as mirrors, I use the CIPA clip on's for the Tundra. Rock solid, good looking, not expensive. $33.

I got my Tundra when I bought our AS 25FB last year. It is TOTALLY up to the task. I forget the trailer is back there. I strongly recommend getting the Toyota OEM tow mirrors. No vibration at highway speed, blind spot mirrors at the bottom, and they telescope out far enough to see around the AS. The mirrors plus the included AS rear view camera means no issue towing. Since I can see all around the trailer, merging in traffic is no big deal.

I don’t have a tundra, but a 2015 sequoia.
Can you tell me how wide the are while telescoped? With a reference please.

When telescoped, outside mirror edge to outside mirror edge measures 9 foot 1 inch across.
Since the 25FB is 8 foot wide, this means I can see the rear side marker on the driver’s side. On the passenger side, the awning arm blocks the side of the trailer a little bit, but I can still see that lane of traffic.
