Trailer toad

Some one have the trailer toad for hitching? I want to buy a 30 foot international and tow it whit a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. I had a 27 foot international and pull it whit a 2011 V6 Grand Cherokee and it was ok. But the propride was a little bit hard on the hitch. So whit the trailer toad i will have no strenght on the frame. My question is if some one have this product and how do you like it? And please don't tell me i can't tow a 30 foot whit a Jeep GC. I did 24500 km, 2 adult, 1 child, 3 biks, always full water and foot accross USA whit a V6 so i can )). Thanks...

Wait, no one has come in here to tell you that you shouldn't be towing with that? Wow. I'm impressed.

I don't need another spanking, thank you!
But I am confused on what a "trailer toad" is?

It's a wheeled dolly that you tow behind your tow vehicle, and the trailer ball attaches to the dolly. Kind of like towing a farm wagon.

I've seen those but didn't know they were called toads!

"Do they still make those....?"

Yup, they still make them. But from all the promotional material from the few manufacturers I've seen, this looks like it's main target market is Buses/RV's pulling trailers. Not really an undersized vehicle pulling an over sized trailer. I know the new diesel in the Jeep is nice, but seriously, 30 feet behind that thing, plus the 4 feet the toad will add?

I don't understand why you'd need the toad...why couldn't the Jeep just have a hitch on it? (Putting aside concerns about the suitability of the tow vehicle.)

Found this on the Interweb. Just Google Trailer Toad.

Looks to me like it would see-saw and lift the tail of the TV. I'm not sure why you'd have it either, unless you needed a lot of space between the TT and the TV. I'll bet it's a lot of fun to backup.

This is a modern version of an old solution to towing a heavy trailer with a vehicle not up to doing it "on the bumper".

You will see that they use it on Lucy and Ricky's rig in "The Long Long Trailer". for example.

That trailer toad is an interesting concept. I would also think that a back-in campsite would be out of the question without removing the toad from the mix. I am also wondering how stable a towing situation you would get at highway speeds.
