You may not like it, but your truck is fine going downhill like that (save for wet/snowy conditions). Better than riding the brakes.

I have a 2014 30' Bunk and 2012 F150 with the 5.0. I travel light and with the 3.55 gears am bucking up against the combined weight rating of trailer and truck. Otherwise the truck does everything I ask. Had I to do it over again I would have gotten the 3.73 gears or the Ecoboost. But I was towing a 25' when I bought it.

We have a 2006 Ford F150 V8 and are pulling a 27ft Land Yacht. Pulls great. No problems!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, it was very helpful in making my decision. Here is what I decided to go with.

2016 F-150 4x4 Supercrew
3.5L V6 Ecoboost
Max Trailer Tow Package
36 gallon extended range fuel tank

I am also planning on adding the air suspension kit, anyone with positive or negative experience with those?

Factory tow mirrors would be a smart addition.

Gee that is a sharp looking pick up in my view. It should suit your needs quite well.

I've read air suspensions are great, but can cause confusion with towing a heavy trailer. The suspension wants to level the vehicle before the weight distribution bars are fully tightened. Research this one before you pull the trigger.

Congrats on your truck. Nice choice. Try it without the air suspension to see if you need it. Oh, and wait till you see the price of those tow mirrors. I cannot even fathom it. I thought about it too but cringed when I heard the price. I have that 360 degree system and have to have 360 camera mirrors which then require a refit and the price is just so out there that I use my Aero mirrors. They work good.

F150 tow

I have had a few different tow vehicles and my 2008 and 2013 have both been excellent tow vehicles.
I tow a 28 foot flying cloud and have had no problems at all and would recommend this tow vehicle and would not get anything bigger the mine F150 4x4, 5 liter, crew cab, 6.5 foot box and heavy duty pay load package.
I read all the comments on large tow vehicles and what I have found was that they are not needed and if towing in the mountains I would be just going slower but the amount of towing ones does it is just money down the drain.
Had a diesel and you can keep them and every other larger vehicle and fill it up at the pump.

Hooked up today for a test run, heading out soon for the maiden voyage with the tow vehicle to the Oregon coast.
