Towing lights with Interstate

Hi All,

I have a 2007 Interstate which is on a 2006 Dodge Sprinter chassis. I bought a trailer last week and when I hitch it up to the Interstate the tail lights work and the running lights work, but no turn signals or brake lights. I tested the power coming from the hitch and sure enough turn signals and brake lights were getting no power.

The only fuse I can find in the Sprinter is labeled hitch plug and it is fine. Any ideas as to why I am getting power to the tail lights but not the brakes and turn signals?

Thanks for any help.

First I would study how they wired the parking lights. If they tapped in directly at the rear light fixture they may have just missed the directional connections. You will have to pick up and wire each side separately. Brakes and directional are the same at the rear of the vehicle.

The only wire that needs to go forward is the battery charge circuit the others can be tapped into at the rear lights.

Hopefully the harness to the plug at the hitch is color coded so you can follow it. If not test each location with a meter to find the 3 and 9 o clock positions, directional locations.
