Towing 16' Sport

Hey everyone, I am picking up a new 16' Sport this weekend and have a question on sway control.

My tow vehicle is a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. It weighs around 5,700 lbs. The Bambi weighs about 3,500 lbs.

I have decided that I will probably be okay without weight distribution. But sway control could be a good idea. Does anyone have any recommendations on easy sway control set ups that don't require WD?

This is what I have found so far: https://www.etrailer.com/p-83660.html

Thanks!

My 1500 Ram is rated to tow 8000. It is 4wd and diesel, the towing capacity of the 2wd gasser is more. What does your owners manual say?

You can get a friction sway damper for less than $50 on Amazon. But if you load your trailer so that you have at least 10% of its weight on the tongue then you wont need it.

We pulled ours bare ball with 2014 Ram 1500. It was fine.

Here's us about 1/3 the way back from Maine near Albany with that combination.

Another option for sway control is the electronic sway control that plugs into your 7 pin and senses sway and applies brakes.

Most definetly don’t need weight distribution for that setup unless the scales say otherwise
