Ford Edge is basically the same vehicle as our Ford Flex, which tows like a champ. We have been super happy with it (though our trailer is a little lighter, about 2800 I think), the new Bambi 16 would still be within it's towing capacity. When we wear this Flex out we're already planning to get another.

Hi Rostan. We tell people all the time their proposed combinations are not suitable. They likely just don't write about those.

Truth:
My Avalon would not be a good tow vehicle.

Just to clarify, my 2008 Volvo XC-90 has the V-8 option which includes a beefed up suspension.

No win situation? roger
Roger, the win situation is to understand what you need and make an informed choice. The original Bambi was photographed behind a Falcon, Mustang, Camaro, and similar compact cars. The pickup craze is just that. You can safely tow with lots of vehicles and unsafe driving will put the safest vehicle on it's top.

I would not purchase a Volvo. I would not purchase a 150 for a Bambi. But my choice or CanAm's choice is not your's. Research and make an informed decision. I'd look at the Durango.

Good luck. Pat

We are planning on towing a 67 Airstream Caravel. It has a GVW of 2265. We will be towing with a a 2010 Acura MDX. Acura says I can pull up to 5000 lbs. with the Acura loaded with supplies and a few more things in the trailer, I “think” we should be ok. Any opinions?

We are planning to replace my wife's small SUV with a bigger SUV that can tow. We have it narrowed down to either a toyota highlander (2016) or a 2014 Volvo XC 90. Both are rated to tow about 5000 lb. Philip from CanAm thinks they both are adequate, but I'm nervous about being so close to the maximum tow rating. I've read all the related threads but wanted to know if anyone here had any negative experiences towing or braking with late model XC90's or Highlanders. I'd love to get a pickup, but it's just not practical for us right now.

Thank you in advance.

Roger
How experienced are you at towing? Driving style has a lot to do with what you can tow with what. Lots of the crash stories start with "I swerved because...". And where are you planning to drive?

I've been towing my 2010 16' International with a 2008 Volvo XC90, V-8 for several years over Colorado mountain passes as well as the flats. It now has 220,000 miles and is going strong. I've been prudent with flushing the transmission and oil changes, and hope to go to at least 300,000 miles. If you can find a XC90 with the V-8 and relatively low milage, you will find it to be a good tow vehicle and everyday ride.

Minimal towing experience here but 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee pulls it just fine.

We currently pull our Bambi (as set up by Can-Am) with our 2011 Touareg TDI. This combination is pretty solid. Tows like a dream. Good luck.

2019 Volvo XC90 T6 - 19' AS

What do you think about towing 19' AS (FC or Caravel) using 2019 XC90?

Maximum tow capacity for the XC90 with the tow package is 5000 lbs. Maximum tongue weight is 500 lbs. It will make an excellent tow vehicle for a 19' AS.
