Our Fellow streamers

This past holiday weekend marked our first outing for 2006. Hershey and Lancaster in PA had the only vacancies in the state on May 26 th and we were forced to camp there. Of course we have learned never to leave home on a holiday weekend without a reservation-- but a good time was had by all and our own Philadelphia Story will be written sometime later.

We would like to recommend the Tow-N-See towing mirrors which we tried for the first time. They are attached to the existing mirrors via a suction cup and stayed put throughout our trip. Of course I was sceptical but the proof is in the seeing and since they sit on the existing mirrors they adjust from the inside of the vehicle. If you live in the city like we do, tow a trailer on two to four occasions a year and use your TV as your daily driver, you have to try these out. Does anyone out there agree?

I hadn't see that type before. They sure look like they would bounce around, or heaven forbid - blow off

We bought ours at Foland Sales Inc. here in New York State at around $27. each but there are dealers in most states as well as Canada and Europe.

If only we had seen these before the hefty investment in Schefenackers, we could have been at least $700 better off.

By the way, Foland's phone # is 800 333 1682 and they will advise you to get the flat model for the driver side and the concave version for the passenger side.

It feels good when a product works the way it's supposed to.

We just picked up the new Tow and See mirrors at a local rv shop, in stock, $26.99 each. One regular for the drivers side and one concave for the passenger side---you can see the entire world on that side! Attachment is a pleasure. They are super light, small profile, easy to store, adhere wonderfully with the turn system and the inside adjustment with the power mirrors is a fantastic ability to have. We never could get the CIPAs just right and were virtually useless, not to mention they were scratching the paint on the truck's mirrors and not being able to be tightened down anymore.

Heading out on Friday and excited to have them! Who'd have thunk, I'd get so excited over tow mirrors. If they stay on and I have read that they do over at rv.net these are the solution for those without permanent installation.

I have a set of them. Both are the flat mirror. I only use them to give me a better view when backing into our storage garage. The garage door is 10' wide and I need all the help I can get backing into it.

The mirrors are solid, light and do stay on very well. I left them on for the 20 mile drive home from our storage garage. If I were using them to tow, I would want is a larger mirror as these are fairly small. I'd also get the convex version.

I think I ordered mine through rvwholesalers.com e-bay store. They had the best price at the time.

Should I have done that? I didn't know whether to get both the same or not, but read somewhere to get as stated, then considered that perhaps regular installed mirrors are one regular and one that says objects appear closer. ???? If I got that wrong I can get two the same, even before I leave. Any further comments on that in particular?

Glad to hear another experience to verify that they do stay on. Oops, they are convex, don't know my ins and outs.

We have learnt so much from this forum that we are thrilled to have something to share with you guys.

The salesman suggested the flat model for the driver side and the concave version for the passenger side and that worked very well for us. I suggest you try this combination first and later you can reverse them and see how you like them then. This experiment will cost nothing Carol.

I've seen these and they do look great-and the fact they adjust with you're mirror-thanks for your testimonial-I want a set. Currrently I have a set of add ons from Australia and they work well also Darrell www.oraproducts.com notice the enzo mirror kind of like a mckesh

We've seen the photograph of your Ora mirrors. The Tow N See's provide a simple and speedy set up and the ability to make adjustments from the driver's station inside the vehicle where all hands should be at current highway speeds.

We just completed a 1000-mile trip using a Tow-N-See mirror for the first time. Our Dodge Durango's mirrors don't extend like those of the trucks, so having this extension on the driver's side made a huge difference in driving safety and convenience. The suction cup mount was more secure than I had expected. In fact, it never came loose, which is quite an endorsement because our trip included the notoriously bumpy concrete highways in LA.

I wish we could add one to the passenger side, but unfortunately the housing around the mirror protrudes too much to mount the suction cup. In other words, the distance between the suction cup and the rod that connects the mount to the fixed mirror is too short to accommodate the 2 or 3 inches that would be needed.

I tried mounting the suction cup at various distances from the car's mirror centerline. Vibration increased as the mounting position moved further away from the center, but was still acceptable for viewing. I wonder though whether the vibration will ultimately damage the car's mirror adjustment mechanism.

Thanks for all the good information about mirrors for towing.

We have just returned from our first trip with our AS. We bought the Tow N See mirrors at Camping World. They stayed attached the entire 900 mile trip.

We bought one flat and one convex. DH tried each on each side and has decided to go with two convex.

This has been a great money saving thread! If I hadn't read about the Tow N See Mirrors on this forum, I doubt if we would have bought them.

Had a pair of the clip on mirrors and they really slipped around and vibrated.

So, got a pair of these suction cup ones at Camping World. Work great!
