Tahoe Axle Ratios
We have a '13 Tahoe 4x4 LTZ towing a new '15 FC 25 for three months so far and it struggles up hills shifting between third and fourth gear. It sounds like part of the problem is the 3.08 axle ratio and the performance and towing capacity would improve if we had a 3.42 axle ratio - has anyone converted their axles? Is it even possible? I read that there was a kit to do this.... Assume both axles would need the kit. I'm not planning to do this myself but get my local Chevy dealer to order and install. As a side note we added a transmission cooler which works well to keep the temperature below 180. Longer term when we head West we will upgrade to a truck or SUV with HD trailer package and ample capacity.
