I've seen that suggested previously, but don't believe it. If the angle were part of a solid bar hinge, yes, it would help correct sway. But it's not--it's a ball and socket. So if you increase the angle, it's still a ball and socket, so no net effect. (Yes, a very slightly different swivel point on the ball, but still a ball and socket.)
In my view, the only purpose of changing the hitch angle is to increase (or decrease) the amount of weight distribution from the bars, using the same number of links in the lift chains.
