Several instances on 10 where the drivers swerving around us while we were going 65; they were sometimes going 90+! The freeways were a mess in Lousiana due to bad maintenance and construction...hwy10 especially bad between Lafayette and Baton Rouge! We both aged a bit on the trip back to Texas...hate using freeways!
We recently finished a 2 month trip to Arkansas / Texas / New Mexico and back to Texas. This trip was 7,000 miles. Like you, the only bad roads on the trip were I-20 in Louisiana headed from El Dorado, Ark to Shrieveport, La. I had heard I-10 was bad so I can't imagine them being worse than I-20. They were so bad we made sure we avoided I-20 and took I-40 back. It was a little longer drive but worth it.

Attached is a pic of our tow combo parked at Lake Livingston State park north of Houston.

Thanks! Yes it is a Hensley... purchased the trailer used and it came with it... love it over the Reese dual cam that we had on our previous 2005 Safari 25FB. Not that the Reese wasn't functional or that we had any issues... because we didn't... just prefer the Hensley.

Us too! We purchased a 2006 Safari 25FB two years ago and it came with a Hensley Arrow. This was our first TT ever and we tow with our 2011 Acura MDX. We love the Hensley. CanAm reinforced our receiving hitch due to tongue weight.Click image for larger version

We bought the Cayenne because we were towing our 24' Keystone to Banff last year and I didn't think my truck would enjoy that much of a workout.

The Cayenne has just SO MUCH MORE of everything, but when I'm just moving the trailer around (an hour to it's parking spot at the in-laws) I usually use the truck and it does fine. It would be much better with a 6.0 and helper bags but it still wouldn't hold a candle to the Cayenne.

The only issue I had with the Cayenne was fuel economy and the scarcity of premium fuel in rural areas. We nearly actually ran out a few times.

We like towing with our MDX also but wish the gas tank was bigger and didn’t require premium fuel. We had one stretch of road on route 140 near the Oregon/Nevada border where the only gas pump within hours had regular fuel only and was very expensive. Regardless, we were grateful it was there. The Cayenne would be our dream TV [emoji847]

These can be purchased for under $20k all day long. Just be prepared to put a little money into it getting it up to snuff.
