Well, I finally brought my Globetrotter home last night. I was afraid that someone had towed it off in the middle of the night and was very relieved to see in still in front of my house this morning.
I used to have a device for my SOB that fit over the end of the tongue and locked so that no one could hitch it up and haul it off.
Does anyone know where I could get some sortr of security device similar to that? If not, what do others do?

I have one of these on my boat and Airstream trailers. Made by Master Lock. Got them at WalMart. You have to destroy the coupling to get these bad boys off.
You can lock the coupler, but your trailer can still be towed away by other means, including using its own safety chains.
If you have slots in your wheels, cable the front of a rear tire to the rear of a front tire. Whether going forward or in reverse, these try to go in opposite directions and will stop the wheel rotation once the cable tightens.
If you have the original Marvel 2" coupler on your Airstream, the hitch lock sold by Camping World may not work due to the shape and thickness of the steel where the lock is supposed to attach. I purchased one for my Overlander after having the clerk verify that it should work with a Marvel 2" coupler - - it didn't but Camping Word did offer to accept its return. Even though the box indicated that the lock was for a 2" coupler, it fits and works on my '78 Minuet with its factory 2 5/16" coupler. I may have just gotten a mislabeled part, but am not certain.
I am currently using something that my dealer rigged for the '64 Overlander - - a 2" ball with the mounting bolt cut off locked in the coupler with a heavy duty Master padlock. I don't know how secure this setup is - - I was more interested in discouraging pranksters.

That's why you use plastic coated Kryptonite cable.
If you're concerned about pranksters, you'd better pull the cable for your emergency brake switch back over the top of it, wrap it around the A-Frame and secure it with the lock so the pin can't be pulled. At best, that would just drain your batteries. At worst, if you're plugged into AC, it can overheat and destroy your brakes, and according to Andy, detemper your spindles.
You're so right BobbyW, the question was posted by Diana, not me. The question of chains is not valid for her as you so correctly pointed out.
And as for:

I removed my battery last Aug before leaving the unit..and, it's not plugged into A/C while in storeage.
Your kind reminder to secure the pull switch is:
gracefully accepted

Sad, but 4 campers have been stolen within 200 yds. of the ranger's house at a game preserve in Cheatham County, TN. in the last year. One of the 4 was a popup belonging to a game warden from Dickson County. Bet he was mad. Two of the campers had balls or rods that fit up inside the the coupler. The remains of these locks were found in the grass and had been torched off. I guess a thick cable inside a protective sleeve wrapped over the axle and run through a hole in the wheel (factory hole that is) might work but one I had on a treestand was defeated by an axe several years ago. That was an expensive $250 lesson on leaving a treestand in the woods overnight.

The locks were torched off?!!! I guess the owners ought to be glad they didn't come back while the grand theft was going on. No telling what kind of "insurance" the thieves were carrying. I guess that campground is one I may think twice (or more) about staying in. Thanks for the heads up.
