rocks, i think not!

hi all,

during my deer hunt this year my host was nice enough to do some welding and fabrication for me.

and this is what we came up with, a set of mud flaps that prevent rocks etc. from hitting the front of my trailer. the bracket slips over the hitch reciever, and can be removed when not in use.

I will be mounting my mud flaps in the normal position but on mounts that allow them to be removed when not towing.

Yes, mine are "Big Sky" flaps also.

I've thought about doing the same thing. I've seen a similar device sold at CW but thought about doing the work myself. It looks sharp.

Thanks John, got the same set of mud flaps in my garage, and was wondering how to mount them. I live in Montana... did not know they are popular.

I like your mudflaps. I have something similar, only I bought mine. They're called ENKAY.

I drove 10,000 miles with mine on last summer, and went to (where else?) Montana. We went on one 15 mile section of road that was under construction in SW Montana, and I wouldn't want to even think what it would have been like without those mudflaps.

Incidentally, the ENKAY's are adjustable both up and down, and inward and outward, as well as removable.

I also have a 4x4, like I see you do, but mine's a Ford F250. Sitting up so high, and with those AT tires, they sure do throw some kind of rocks. So, those mudflaps are indespensible.

boy those look nice! bet they work well too.

the other thought i had about mine was to use the kind of material that u.p.s. has on their semi trailers. looks kinda like a broom.

but, i think my "big sky" flaps will work good too. the other option is from a local farm store. same flaps, but they say "farm and fleet" in large white letters.
