Cool Retracting rock deflector??

Does anybody know of, or has seen these? A friend told m he saw a set up like this on a trailer. They almost remind you of roll up blinds, and they attach to the bumper, then hook to the trailer to prevent any rocks from flying up into the traler. It sounds like an interesting concept. Anybody seen these??

Are they invisible too?

Not sure how to respond without picture or sketch or something to look at...

Did you mean to attach a picture?

I HAVE seen a set-up like you describe, but it was not a retractible screen, rather it was a horizontal plastic panel that attached over/under the tow bar (it was on a MoHo with a toad). Seemed like it would work well.

I'll check with some of my RV suppliers to see if they are still available.

PM me so I can get back to you when this thread disappears............

hi fbc72...

as lewster notes,

i've seen mesh sheets connected from the back of the tv to the front of the trailer horizontally...

they didn't retract but could be disconnected and rolled up...

so a spring loaded roller isn't far fetched.

you're in alaska right?

i've seen these skirts used on the alcan hiway....

between tv and trailers or moho and tow'ds....

The Tow Defender Tow Shield sold by Camping World is a vinyl-coated mesh 45" X 72" in size that stretches out horizontally from the tow bar stinger to the front of a towed vehicle (toad). It fits all Roadmaster motorhome-mounted tow bars with disconnect. Whether it could be adapted to work between a TV and a trailer is anybody's guess.

I have not seen the pleated style you mentioned but it may be out there.
