reese or eze-lft hitch on a sport 22FB

One dealer told us that he CANT add a reece or an eze-hitch sway and weight control hitch on the sport 22FB.
he says it has to be 26" away from the ball and the gas bottle is in the way.

another dealer told us no problem, just install the bracket at 28" and let the chain be on a bit of an angle.

Any thought if the second dealer is correct

The first two photo shows how the second dealer did it
the one with the red tape is the dealer that states it wont fit

The second dealer is right. The fact that the chains hang at an angle has no effect in there effectiveness. Yes it does increase the tension on the chains by the trigonometric function of that angle but not to worry. Those chains will carry many times the load you are going to apply.

I would suggest you look at a sway control bar set up rather than the friction plate system. The friction plate system is a pain in the butt.

this clearly shows all the parts and that the reece or eze-lft can fit on a sport 22FB
