Propride Hitch: Going to a 1000lb bar from 1400lb

Curious if anyone has experience doing this? I have some slight body damage as discussed in this Thread:

Note that the damage is not uncommon and I donít want to speculate the reasons for the damage, I simply want to soften my ride.

I am considering going to the 1000lb bars.

Tow vehicle is a 2005 Ford Excursion, 3P Hitch, trailer is 2015 30í Flying Cloud bunkhouse.

Tounge weight is 1150lbs measured with Surline scale.

I went in the opposite direction (1000# bars to 1400#) because I was struggling getting enough weight back to the steer axle. Since Colonial basically reinstalled the entire hitch because my original dealer didn't do it right from the start - I can't say whether the bars or the reinstall solved the problem - but it works. And no damage like the pictures you've shared.

What does the trailer weigh loaded?
If I remember correctly, the tongue can be no more than 10-15% of the trailer. Could it be overstressed fully loaded?
