Opinions Please?

My restore is nearly done! Now I need a hitch system. I have found an Eaz Lift Weight Distribution w/ sway control on the web for about half of what the local dealer wants for a hitch. Has anyone used this brand? Any and all comments appreciated.

Eaz lift is a known good brand. When I was working as a transporter there were more drivers using eaz lift than Reese. I suspect based on cost, but obviously they worked or drivers towing large trailers many miles a year would not have kept using them.

I have never heard of eaz lift, so I cannot say yea or nay, but the best and safest hitch I ever used was the Hensley Arrow.

In my opinion, it is more important to get a hitch with the proper weight rating bars for your trailer's tongue weight, than what brand of hitch it is. Meaning, you don't want to use a hitch with 1400 pound bars with a trailer that has an 800 pound tongue weight. Something like 1000 pound bars with an 800 pound tongue would be doable, but 800/800 is better.

I used an eaz lift hitch system for years. They make a good quality WD system that is easy to hitch up and tows straight and level. The only reason I am not using it now is that I bought a 34 ft excella that came with a different brand hitch.

I bought an Andersen WD with built in sway. The sway control is a hundreds times better than my old friction one. Plus its on and off in a few minutes with nothing heavy to lift and no messy grease. I have 1500 miles on it in a week and love it. solid as a rock.

Our hitch was set up by our dealer and he kitted us out with an Eaz Lift system, including a pair of friction anti-sway bars; indeed, he uses Eaz Lift by default for most of his installations. It's basic stuff compared to Hensley or Propride but it works for us; we've not had a single problem and the Airstream follows us straight and true.
