A little West of Colorado Springs?

I'm guessing Pike's peak.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
Several years back we were headed to Mt Rushmore with the SOB popup and we stop and setup in Colorado Springs. We hop in the truck (Nissan 4x4) and head up to the peak. It is July 1st and we are wearing T-Shirts and shorts. We get to the top (great 1 hr drive) and its near or below freezing. We both now have Pikes Peak sweat shirts!

well of course u were on pike's peak....great photo 2......

as an aside....
in my younger days i 'ran' the pikes peak marathon.....a few is staged in august..

after the first effort i started going out to crested butte (10k elevation or so) and acclimating for a few weeks...

my running times improved by 20-25%......

too bad the trucks don't adapt as well......
