Looked at two today- first one about 8K overpriced for the work to be done, second much nicer about 1-3 overpriced- and less work but very nice. Hopefully the one tomorrow will be spot-on- meeting then in the AM- hopefully our conversations and the 3.5 hr drive will be for not....

Ok- so we have removed the horrible couch, and the twins in the back (so they can be rebuilt)- and basically started ripping out the old wallpaper and cleaning the hell out of her.... However- while I am fairly mechanically inclined (I have rebuilt several vehicles and have a working knowledge of autos) I have NO idea on things when it comes to AS.
I would like to find someone -in the North Texas area (I am
N of Dallas in the Denton area) with a LOT more experience then myself to come out and provide some expertise on a few items that are bugging me.... I'll be happy to pay in beer, lunch, gas money etc....

You need to get ahold of Melody Ranch. He is just north of you in Valley View. Go to the search box and search Melody Ranch and send him a PM
Good luck

Ok.... So for an update - we are done with the resto/mods on the 76 31' Excella 500....
Interesting on how the numbers changed.....
So pulled out the two rear bunks, and a full size couch in the front... Installed a u-shaped dinette and three bunks in the back....
Original towing numbers..(day we bought her) full of gas, unsure on LPG tanks or water in the tank
Front axle- 2980
Rear axle- 4020
Trailer axle- 5500
Total 12,500
Weighed today with updates and two full 30lb tanks LPG and circa 3/4 full fresh water tank(but only 3/4 tank of gas) and a few beers in the fridge...
Front axle- 2960
Rear axle- 3820
Trailer axle- 5920
Total 12,700
