Need measurements for 65 Safari Axle - Pls help

Hello,
I am in Alaska and trying to get a old 65 Safari 22' out of the woods. The axel had been removed years ago and I need to get an entire new set-up quickly as possible, the property has been sold & I had to talk them out of scraping it!

I was hoping someone could give me some measurements from the same year. The "Hub face to Hub face" (outside of rotor to outside of rotor) and the "outside of main rails" (outside of attachment bracket to hub face)

I was hoping this would let me attach a pict of a diagram, but I don't see how to. It would explain better. If you would be interested in helping out with the info (I could send pict in email) It would be greatly appreciated and help save a Safari from the scrap yard.

Thanks!

Talk or email Colin Hyde, he should have all the necessary measurements and can have an axle shipped to you.

Have talked with Inland several times & unfortunally even after talking myself into the shipping cost that is almost as much as the price of the axle, I was misquoted on the shipping time & when I called to order it I was told it would take 2 weeks to get here

Possible contact info for him? -thx
-- most likely it won't be feasible for me to get something here in time. That's why I'm trying to get measurements to get something locally.

Not sure when AS started making torsion arm axles, but there are only a few manufacturers. The primary one which comes to mind is Dexter.

Could you load it on a flatbed?

I second wkerfoot

I ordered axles for my 66 Tradewind from Colin, took all the guesswork out of it. He also searched several days for the cheapest shipping.

Unfortunately it is to long for a flatbed tow truck. It could be put on a 24' car hauler if wide enough but to get it out of the spot it's in & onto a trailer it would need to be jacked up or lifted & skids or something built to drag it out. Then it would still need the axle etc. in the future so it would be double the cost. Seems much smarter to get the axle on it asap.

I spoke to Dexter, Inland & a couple others and although I wanted a torsion axle the shipping almost doubles the cost & it would take longer than I have to get here
So it seems I will have to make due with a leaf spring set up.

- I did send an email to Colin.
