MB Hitch Reinforcement

Hi all, I'm asking to see if someone wouldn't mind posting photos or a thorough description of the hitch reinforcement done to the MB ML350 / GL350 SUVs.

We're getting a '13 GL350 with the factory hitch & tow package installed to tow our '16 Flying Cloud 23D and I'm trying to get it set up right to handle the extra tongue weight. The 23D is listed at approximately 725#, which is over the 600# MB limit.

I'm in Oregon and no one around here has any knowledge of the reinforcement done by Andy at CanAm other than "We've heard of it but don't know anyone local who does it". Unfortunately, getting up to CanAm to have the work done isn't all that realistic (36 hour drive).

I have a very competent structural welder in the family and between him and myself (engineer), I'm confident we can get it done right. We just need some more details on where to put the reinforcements.

I'm going to contact Andy at CanAm later today but I'm just trying to get as much information as possible before we do anything.
