Is this the oldest combination?

I have customers that have owned their Airstreams for more than 30 years but this is the only one I know of that has has the trailer and tow vehicle for 30 years.

The owner is retired now but was a professional landscape photographer. In the van they carried 2 enduro motorcyles and a Zodiac boat and Motor. They traveled extensively with this comination all over North America. Much of it on steep twisty back roads looking for the perfect shot. He cannot remember how many times the odometer has turned over

The van is a 1981 7200 GVWR GM with a 350 Engine with 3.73 gears and a 3 speed automatic with a lock up torque convertor. The Airstream is a 1983 31'. Both are meticulously maintained and are still in excellent condition.

That rig is amazing. Everything looks brand new. I like the matching blue strips.

My dad had a similar van, same year, he did van camping with it. My mom felt trailer was better.

I've been feeling pretty tired of our old van lately, but this makes me want to keep it another 20 years (just to tie them)

That is the exact same trailer that I have. My 81 looks pretty good but no where near that good.

Now if that doesn't make you smile nothing will. Thanks for sharing Andy. Wow. Just think about what they have seen.

Cool. I don't see many vans as TV anymore. They really are practical considering what you can carry and how easy it is to access. What a nice rig that is!

In many ways they make a lot of sence, compared to an SUV they usually have a lower center of gravity and less rear overhang.
