Integrated brake controller

I have a 2011 flying cloud with drum brakes. Does anyone have a newer Gmc or chevy pu with integrated brake controller? And does it work? Thanks

I have a 2011 Classic with drum brakes & a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD (Duramax) with the integrated controller and it works great for me.

I have a 2013 Silverado with integrated controller. I have disc brakes on the trailer to the truck, but I spliced in 2 brake magnets to make it look like an electric brake trailer. It works great.

good feature

My 1/2 ton has an add-on Prodigy brake controller. The 3/4 ton has an integrated controller.

Both function as they should. I can see no downside to the integrated controller but there are some advantages:

- Steering wheel control will display the gain setting on the instrument cluster.

- Big, easy to reach +/- button and manual override controls built into the dash.

- Elimination of the box hanging down by my knee.

- Ability to preset and store two different gain setting for two different trailers

These integrated features do make for convenience and safety especially switching the 3/4 ton between the Airstream and my cargo trailer. The Airstream setting stays the same. But the cargo trailer gain needs constant adjustment depending on how much weight is in it.

I never remember what I last set it at or what I last had hooked up. One press on the steering wheel button and a quick glance at the dash to check the gain. Nice.

My 3/4 ton Suburban, has the integrated brake controller, and I've not had any issues.

I had an '08 GMC 2500 with the integrated brake controller, and it worked perfect. I now have a '12 Ram 2500 with the IBC, and it's a piece of junk. Recently replaced it with a Prodigy P3, and I love it.

I had a Prodigy P3 and it worked fine, now have a '12 Ram 1500 with the IBC and it's works fine as well; the display in the instrument cluster is a nice feature.

We also have an integrated brake controller on our 2013 Duramax. Works great. We have a Prodigy on the Yukon and it works fine as well. Like the visual feedback on the IBC though.

Hope Iam not to late on this thread. We purchased our new to us AS this early winter and also updated our TV to a 2011 Chevy 2500HD. The AS unfortunately is 1000 miles away and winter is breaking, so time to prep. I've learned thru the forum that my factory brake controller will not work with the disk brakes on the AS, and don't want to go aftermarket. I need your help with the configuration of the wire and magnet placement to make the controller work properly. The AS is at a storage facility, so when I get there I want to have all my ducks in a row to do this project. Thanks

Tin top: 1 year later and I was checking my older posts. By now I'm sure you have discovered that your Sierra needed nothing to accomidste your AS. Sorry I didnt see your post.
