Install Receiver on Classic 31 To Tow Jet Ski

Any thoughts on installing a receiver in order to tow a small jet ski? Any aftermarket recommendations? We have a Yamaha Wave Runner I would like to be able to tow behind. Thanks

Yes, almost everyone here will say no to installing a hitch. The chassis of the Airstream isn't designed to do this. If you search these forums, you'll see that doing thus same thing just for a bicycle carrier will cause big damage (over time)
Please be prepared, as this querry almost always insights an opinion war!
Personally, I would not add a hitch either....

I would not add a hitch either. Mainly because of the extreme distance from the back axle of the Airstream and the new hitch ball.

Even small amounts of Airstream movement or trailer sway is going to cause the back trailer distress. Think of a whip being cracked.

I've done it with a 24' Argosy and a 17' boat. Didn't like it. Didn't do it long enough to see if there would be any damage, but wouldn't do it again.

The wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
Depending on your tow vehicle, you might be able to rig up a lift on the corner of the bed (if you have a pickup with a long bed) and place the jet ski in the bed. That's a far from ideal solution, as well, though. Once you got to the lake or beach, you would have to figure out how to get the ski in the water.
