Hensley Hitch Jack

In unhitching the Hensley from my truck I was lowering the tension bars by undoing the jacks. Normally the jacks would stop turning and the tension bars would be lose. This time the jack became completely undone and the jack came apart into two pieces. What broke? I was able to put them together by threading them. But this jack now does not stop and comes apart if I unscrew them too much.

You lost the left handed nut that holds it together. Completely collapse the jack and look up inside the tube.

I have had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. It's an easy fix. Now that I know about it, I stop it before I get to the end.
