Likely bad switch. They carry the full current which is a tough service. Mine had to be replaced with very little use. Suggest you get a spare while you are getting a replacement.

Thanks for all your wonderful answers and suggestions. We are getting a toggle switch and additional fuses from the company tomorrow. I assume one of those items will solve the problem.

Hey dorrph,

I always carry my trusty 18V Dewalt driver and just recently added a 1" spade drill with the tip broken off to MANALLY raise and lower my hitch. works great.
