I have a 2010 Ford escape and it is my least favorite car of all time.
Transmission failed at 17,000 miles, and numerous other issues. I have a Honda odyssey at over 200,000 miles and a Honda crv close to 200,000 and both of these cars COMBINED spent far less time in the shop for repairs than my Ford Escape this past year. I like and have owned Ford trucks but never wil buy a Ford car again, going back to Honda.

Complete strangers will come up to me in a parking lot and ask if I have issues with the Ford Escape, they all want to tell me about their problems with their own Ford Escapes. It's a club you don't want to be a part of!

Bring one! from an expert. The only ones (from lawyers) posted so far are from individuals who are obviously completely ignorant of the subjects of automobiles, towing dynamics, and the laws of physics. Granted, the question, as posed to the lawyers, was really loaded. It implies no due diligence performed at all on the said 3500lb rated vehicle. Might as well have just asked, "can I just drop a 8000lb bounder on the bumper-ball of my 92 Mazda Protege and drive off?"
Can I put 15lbs of crap in a 10lb bag? goodness, no!
But that isn't at all what is being discussed here, or on any other related threads.
A little bit of what they said is of value: yes, you could be liable. You could also be liable for spitting on the sidewalk, if the guy coming along behind you has a slip-fall accident.
Most importantly is what the second guy said: the plaintiff would have to prove that this was the cause of the injury, which would be extremely difficult to do, mostly because of the extreme unlikeliness of it actually happening.

A quick trip to the scales reminded me of how heavy these trailers can get and the impact upon "max capacity payload" - we all have to look at the numbers and make our own decisions - unfortunately, the car manufactures have multiple numbers and ratings (btw - don't forget the stock tires can decrease your max gvwr)...

Yes - I'm now throwing in "tires" to the mix...

Workmens Comp more likely - back injuries, crush injuries, etc.

Much of what I learned about propane safety I picked up from Hank Hill.

Get a bunch of insurance adjusters talking at their Christmas party and the tales of poorly trained tire and auto service accidents, propane refilling mishaps, etc. and you'll be afraid to go near a shop. And then they start talking about tree cutters - YUCK, blood and gore and horrific stories about wood chippers and arms and legs.

...and RV dealerships and motorhomes that have burned to the ground due to the gas absorption type refrigerators-
Now they make you turn off the refrigerator when dropping off for service-
Some motorhomes have residential refrigerators and generators.
