You stated that a weight distribution hitch, [b]"is a waste of money".

A 20 foot trailer is "small".

Please don't take my statement out of context. I said " In my opinion, if properly loaded and you're not in a huge hurry to get to your destination, and you are safely under the weight limits on your tow vehicle a WD is a waste of money - again I'm talking small trailers here"

So that's my opinion. You may disagree, and that's fine, but this thread only goes to prove that there is little if any empirical evidence to the contrary, only opinions, including yours.

Please read post # 56 above.

That's not an opinion, but it is fact.

A 17 foot Airstream is 3 feet shorter than yours, yet it contributed to 2 deaths, because of loss of control, which was caused by towing with a "ball" only.

But, as always, it's the individuals choice.

Be aware however, should you loose control and hurt someone, you will be liable for operating an unsafe rig, based on today's RV standards.

Attorney's are all over the place looking for a situation like that.

Being careful, cautious and safe, is the only way to really enjoy RVing.
