05 Ford F150 w/5.4Liter returns a consistent 11 mpg at indicated 55-60 mph with the Bambi ... not bad, but certainly not the amazing mpg that many others are getting. Often we are under 40 mph going up passes; however, we have broken 20 mpg with the truck by itself! We shall see how the new diesel works out - keeping fingers crossed.
Now that is amazing...
Our average for a trip to CA last year was 11.1 with our "gas hog" 8.1.
Feel much better now...thanks for posting.

I’m done with ‘adulting’…Let’s go find Bigfoot.
...just returned from the Can Opener...Jackson, MS to Destin and back driving what ever speed felt proper +70 on I-10 at times...55-65 on 4 lane state roads...50-55 on 2 lanes...blowing black smoke passing a slow poke thru the Mobile AL tunnel...
12.8 MPG of diesel draggin 34' of aluminum...the info meter was showin 16.5...lie to me!!!
We pull our 19' Bambi with a 2012 BMW X5 35d (diesel). Have made trips Seattle-Whistler, BC; Seattle-Leavenworth; Seattle-Park City, UT. Average mpg has been middle 16's at 65mph or with some local stop and go (through Vancouver); and middle 17's at 50 to 60mph on highway. We could do better with a lighter foot on the pedal going up hills - will try that next trip...
Not towing, we average 26+ mpg with mix of local driving and trips to mountains for skiing.
Pulling our 28 foot International Serenity with my 5.9 Cummings we get 15.3 at 63MPH....like most diesels you ratchet up the speed much and you pay a healthy penalty in mileage. Paid $4.45 in Connecticut for diesel Tuesday morning....painful! Sure has brought me down to the speed limit....
We just drove about 60 miles with our 16' Bambi to spend the weekend in Scusset Beach Reservation. 2010 Ford F-150 got 15.4 mpg driving between 55 and 60 mph in mixed semi crowded highway and some town roads. Bringing it home from NJ last week we averaged just below 15 mpg for the trip. All on 87 octane fuel too.
