Hi Craig,

Thanks for the pictures. I see that you were able to resize them and post.
When I called Enkay, they told me about the deal with Hensley and they told me to call Sean, but I don't want to deal with it now. Once the mudflaps get here, we'll see how much has to be milled. We will take it to a shop to do it right.

Our tow vehicles are both GMC. I have the Yukon XL 2500 with 8.1 and my husband got the Sierra 2500HD. The Hensley works well with both and since we can use the mudflaps with either TV, that's great.

Thanks Craig Great photos!!

Sonia, I will be interested in what you do with your Enkay. I think that I like the milling out of the Enkay better than the different part from Hensley. Maybe Enkay could use what Craig did to give specific directions to local machine shops. But, on the other hand it sounds like each set up has different amounts of milling to make the systems work together.
Sonia our 2500 Yukon/Burbs should have the same set ups, Please keep me posted if you can!!

Thanks!!
Abe

I wonder what Hensley would charge for the special shank... just to buy it rather than exchange it. Might be reasonable compared to the pain of having something milled, etc.

Try Amazon.com and search for Enkay. I saw a price of $206.55, shipping extra. Mrtruck.net and the Enkay factory has them for $229.50 plus shipping. Shipping weight is 42 lbs.

Lightbulb Good catch PMCLEMORE

Well … er... aaaa… , I guess if you’re supposed to READ every word in the instructions, they do imply that the useless punch device is maybe, supposed to be, used in a drill.

And besides, as shown in the accompanying figure, having a serious, REAL 3/8” craftsman drill bit beats out a “hollow”, “half dull”, “give away” bit that didn’t even fit in my drill chuck when I tried it tonight. So overall, I am still pleased with the way I put it together.

I do hope Abe ( VAJEEP) gets to improve on all the “methods” tried by the pioneer users of the Enkay Rock Tamers.

It would have been a better catch if I had caught it before I messed up the drill. Sure looked like a punch, though.

I love the flaps. The only downside is that they are heavy (which is also a good thing for functionality). I remove them every time I unhitch, 'cause I don't like driving around with all that freight hanging out the back end of my truck. But the first time I rode through some fresh tar-and-rock I was greatly pleased knowing that my prized AS was not going to come out speckled.

I am looking forward to going to AK one of these days, and reconciled to losing windshields but not damage to what is important.

I forgot all about Cabela's, one of my favorite places to throw money to. I think you will enjoy the Rock Tamer. They sure gave me piece of mind.
