Yes, and you will need to go at least 200,000 miles or more to break even vs a gas model when you include added engine, maintenence, fuel and additives costs, but you made the choice to WANT rather than NEED. That's America!

Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 6.4 Hemi vs 6.7 Cummins

My last two tow vehicles have been new Ford 6.7 turbo diesels. The maintenance cost is negligible and I have my dealer do it all.The resale value is far better so cost of ownership is lower.I have had no problems with either truck.
They are quiet,do not smoke or smell and pull like a freight train.Wont be buying another gas tv anytime soon.
Also for the record gasoline takes longer to wash off (due to all the chemical additives) than the new diesel fuel so no I don't wear gloves.
I have not had any bad fuel issues.
When traveling I do not wait until I am low on fuel to start looking for a station.I only buy fuel at major brand fuel stations.

Just ordered a new Ram with a Cummins. 3500 Crew Cab Long bed 4x4 is on the way. I will have two coal burners now

The reason wasn't really for the newer engine. I just wanted a airbags and air conditioning, but I will happily take 800 lb ft of torque and an integrated exhaust brake; the last is one thing that is a non option for gas rigs.

Again, I look forward to going up, and down, all of those west coast mountain passes.

So, my only question is, can I get 25 years out of this next one

The secret to longevity is preventative maintenance and a religious schedule for the engine and transmission oil changes. I went to the extreme of adding the FS-2500 auxiliary oil filter systems for both the engine oil and the transmission fluid.

For sure! I am a firm believer in using Fleetgaurd filters. For fuel, oil, and air. My 6bt still runs like a top with over 300k on it.
