Decision

We FINALLY made a decision on a new TV................

2015 Yukon XL Denali (diamond white)

While we would have liked more payload, we think that for OUR all around daily needs + towing needs, this one best suits the majority of our criteria. It has a 420hp engine with 460lbs of torque. We get the longer wheelbase, auto levelers, magnetic ride control, built in brake controller, and overall just a little more room, which my husband insisted on. At the end of the day, the payload is right around 1,500 so we will need to load consciously, but we had yet to locate an F150 (for example) with any more payload than that that we wished to purchase. We think this will be our "Truck/Tahoe" combo for now.

We may still visit the used 2500 truck idea down the road, but for today and our one weekend/month adventures in the TX/OK/AR vicinity, we hope that this TV will meet both our 20% towing needs, as well as our 80% day to day needs. When our needs change, so may our TV, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there! For now, this is the one. She is sitting outside now!

Thank you to everyone for the food for thought through this process.

Finally

Congratulations on your purchase. Life is GOOD. We in America like CHOICES. Glad to see you guys agreed on this vehicle. It will certainly fill your needs. I saw first hand how much effort you guys went thru to come to this decision. Now it's almost time to GO CAMPING! Just make sure you get your hitch professionally installed, and that shiny white Knight will never lead you astray.
All the best to you two.
Gavin

Congrats!
Anybody know what RPM the torque peaks at in the 6.2L? Or a link to a HP/TQ graph?

Bob, you be Chevy guy. Maybe we should be too, my last one was a 1951 coupe. Put a 283 in it and painted it red, it was hot.

Congratulations to the o.p.'s, nicely balanced rig. Don't skimp on the hitch.

Ops, also had a 1956 Bel Air convertible. Painted it red and put a 327 in it. Then I got drafted.
