Question coupler lock

Not sure where this post should go- anyway here is the question I have.

Where can I find a coupler lock (the type that covers the entire area where to ball goes into for our trailer(assumeing most AS trailers have similar tongues-mine is a 2001 Bambi). I have seen some at Walmart and at a local RV dealer but both of these don't fit over my coupler. The coupler appears to have a very large lip that doesn't accommodate these particular locks. Does anyone know if a lock like this is available and/or can you recommend some other type that would provide good security.

Thanks,

Bob Caldwell

Coupler Lock

The same outfit that makes the WalMart lock makes different configurations of the lock. They do have one that will fit Airstreams, but they are hard to find. Nobody seems to stock them.

Some time back, I chased the appropriate lock down on the internet, but I didn;t buy one since I had already bought a different style of lock. Best I can advise is get the manufacturer's name from the one at WalMart and start searchiung the net.

Guardian Coupler Lock

A perfect fit for the Airstream couplers is a lock made by Guardian Industries, 2719 Stagestand Road, Duncan, OK 73533. The model number is G-37. Good trailer supply stores carry these locks. Phone number for Guardian is 405 255-2699. The G-37 model is designed for the 2-5/16" rolled lip flange couplers found on the 2001 Airstreams.

I just bought one last month - Maaster Lock Co. Trailer Lock, # 35.

If you can't find one, call C&G Trailer Service in Bellflower, CA - They sold me mine. (562) 634-6286

Good Luck!

coupler lock

I had the same problem. What I wound up doing was to take a hitch ball, saw the threaded shaft off at the base of the ball and using a normal padlock, lock it in the hitch socket while storing. It would at least slow down a thief a little, and is much cheaper and available than the commercial variaty.
