Hello Folks. I'm new to the Airstream community, just purchasing a new Bambi. The tow vehicle is an fj Crusier and did great the 70 miles we towed from the deaeler. I have a ton of questions that y'all have already helped me out with just reading the forums. But one I have; the owners manual indicated that 65 miles per hour was the max for the tires on the trailer. Not that I'll be driving faster than that but have you found that true? On some of these interstates you can get run over at 65 mph! Keep a tight line...Cooter

It is not how fasr you can tow your AS it is how fast can you stop. Remember your total weght at deadstill may be 5,000lb but at 65mph it is probably doubled when you are trying to stop. The G forces work against you. Also miles per gallons go down the faster you go.
In some states the speed limit is 55 mph for any towed vehicle. So slow down and get there in one piece.
On my tow vehicle. And thanks at least in part to my Airstream and Reese Dual Cam hitch I stayed straight and level as I came to a controlled stop. I'll go over 65 if I have to (to change lanes safely) but otherwise I stay at 65 or below depending on the posted speed for trailers. I TOTALLY agree it's about stopping, if you have to and it's about enjoying the trip as well as the destination.
