Hi,
I have a 2002 Sequoia. We have towed our 6,500lb 1972 Ambassador about 20,000 miles with the Sequoia. It is a good SUV for towing. I'm sure a new Sequoia would be even better.
Good Luck!
I have a 2010 Sequoia and pull my 28 ft. Safari with it. The 5.7L engine has more than enough grunt, transmission and brakes are solid, an handling & ride are quite fine, especially with the very small turning radius. The cons: thimble-sized 26 gal. fuel tank and marginal 1250 lb payload which, after 850 lb tongue weight doesn't leave much capacity for passengers, luggage and dog.
Overall I'm very happy with the Sequoia but will be moving to a pickup at some point.
