Cargo vans

I need to replace my Ford E250 which we use to tow our 16' Sport. Ford and Dodge both have new vans, the Transit and the Dodge Promaster,( which is front wheel drive). Both have gas, gas-turbo and diesel engine options all of which claim better mileage but give no figures, never mind trying to guess the impact of towing weight on mpgs. Is front wheel drive a problem for towing? Both the Ford Ecoboost and the Dodge Penstar have been used in the pickup trucks for awhile.Any thoughts? Don
