My experience with using a u-haul truck was severe body damage to my trailer when exiting a gas station turning right with an unexpected high curb drop-off. The rear of the truck body smashed the crown. Check your clearences!

Also check the diameter of the hitch ball. When I inquired about towing my '74 Argosy, the u-haul operator said the ball WELDED to the hitch was 2" dia. The AS requiring 2-5/16(?).

I had a 2001 Ford 10' box truck with a slightly extended rear bumper (~10") that I had a hitch put on and pulled my 24' 1968 Tradewind to Sturgis with. Very convenient. I would be concerned with a much larger box truck (I also have a Mack box truck). That would beat the AS to death, but the 1 ton box truck basically rode like my Chevy 2500 pickup. You will be fine as long as the hitch assembly is long enough for clearance in tight turns. You might want to consider airbags on the box truck along with the brake controller so you can level out your ride (depending on how heavy you load the box truck).

Remember your hitch ball must be 18 to 19 inches from the pavement.

I've seen a number of professional dog handlers tow a travel trailer with a box truck. The dogs and grooming equipment are in the truck and the handler and staff use the travel trailer. Solves the problems of motels and caring for the show dogs, particularly in the smaller towns where the show venues are.

Ask 'Artstream', Michael Depradia. He has towed his Excella many years full timing.
