Anyone towing with a 2015 Suburban-- 25-28' Airstream? It's still high on our list of preferences for TV's, but maybe pushing it on payload for a 27' unit, 2 people + 2 big dogs. But, it's close in payload to an F150 with 5.5' bed (have to go 6.5' bed to get HD payload).
Salesmen are telling us go 4wd for the suspension too?
I think that would be a good fit. Just make sure it's the the max towing package (really verify the sticker because they all have the hitch equipment on the rear). If you're using the rear compartment mostly for dogs and not loading it up with heavy equipment you should be fine on the payload capacity. You'll need a weight distributing hitch.
As far as I know 2wd and 4wd options have the same suspension, even the Z71 package. He may be referring to the magnetic ride control that comes on the LTZ level. There is an upgraded suspension package that's automatically added to the Max Trailering vehicles (LT and LS) but it can be added to 2 or 4wd. That said, I live in the Pacific Northwest and dealers here don't stock 2wd Suburbans because no one would buy one.
