There are several long threads on it in the hitch section. The reviews are good and bad, and every thread usually ends up getting shut down because of the differences in opinions.

Here's one for your reading pleasure: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f464...on-101220.html

Do a search under the hitches section. You can spend the rest of the evening reading. This has been beat to death many times here!!! Chris

Has anyone using the Andersen hitch taken their set up to the scales to see how the effective this hitch is at weight distribution.

If I missed this in some of the lengthy threads I apologize.

I'm not trying to stir up any issues but am curious.

Thanks!

A little light reading, plenty of scale data available.

I am sorry to have to send you down this path but you will find any and every question that could be asked about the Andersen here.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f464...ead-92131.html

I was one of the early users and started that tread. As an early user I made modification to the hitch and commented to Andersen as to what I had done. They have adopted my comments and those of other early users. That is common with new products that take a completely new approach to an old issue.

You will see comments that the hitch is not a WD hitch. While that statement in it's self is not true the hitch is not as effective at distributing weight as some of the older systems. But then again the requirements that warranted those systems no longer are the primary consideration. They were designed while we were driving "Boats"

The Andersen is a superior sway control system with WD limited WD capacity. That limited capacity will only be a consideration if you are towing with a softly sprung soccer moms TV.

You will hear comments that it can not be used with an Atwood coupler. Yes there is a problem with that coupler but not one that negates the improvements the Andersen offers. My complete system with changes to the trailer tongue still cost less than most WD systems and 1/4 that of the high priced spread.
