That makes me think that the safe speed is zero and the safe locations are at least 100 yards off the highway.

All bad effects on the road get worse with increased speed. Magnify X2 when trailer is attached. Just look at a chart showing stopping distances v. speed or impact force v. speed. It pays to modify ones personality to enjoy slower speed. It's hard, but not impossible.

On a day of 300-miles or so the "time saved" in travelling faster than about sixty is ephemeral, to say the least. Time saved for what . . holding the channel changer?

The best use of time on a day of any length is in initial departure and in controlled length stops. A day of trip legs. Travel speed is secondary.

Where one stops for the night can be determined at any point during the day.

My favorite thing about running sub 60 mph speeds....everybody passes you and generally you run by yourself.

It's just 20 days away.
I have already printed directions to the Blue Beacon truck wash in Pearl, MS, and from there to Topsail Hill. Got to have a clean trailer.
Looking forward to it.
Chomping at the bit, rarin' to go!
