2017 Super Duty TPMS

Has anyone installed the 2017 Super Duty TPMS kit on their Airstream?

I found this note "Four (4) TPMS Sensors o (note: wheel sensors only fit wheels with J-type flange wider than 3.5 in (88.9 mm) and a .452 in (11.48 mm) valve stem hole stem hole.".

I'm assuming they would fit but maybe someone knows for sure?

I have a similar question for the 2017 Ford F-150. I've ordered a Lariat with the max tow package. Of course the truck has TPMS but could my two wheels on the Safari be added? At present I have Tire Minder that includes a booster to get to the monitor but it would be terrific if trailer were combined with one system and one display.

Here are the wheel requirements for using the Ford Trailer TPMS.

1) A wheel with a J type flange, this is apparently most passenger and trailer wheels and is denoted with a J in the size usually on the back of the wheel. For example 16x6.0J.

2) The wheel width must be greater than 3.5", so a 16x6.0J wheel has a 6.0" width and will work.

3) 0.452" diameter valve stem hole, this again is most passenger and trailer wheels.

I upgrade to Michelin tires on Sendel T03 rims which meet all of the above requirements.

I'll post a write up on my blog in a week or two with more details.

This is super helpful...thank you very much.

Do you know if the 16's which come with the Eddie Bauer are compatible with the TPMS.

Matt will you be installing the camera too? I have always worried about this considering its wired and there is no good way I know of to route the camera wire up top of an airstream...

The TPMS will work with any of the Sendel wheels including those on the Eddie Bauer edition.

I'm not planning on it.

Ideally you'd mount the camera above the rear window, I have a rear bedroom that has closets on both sides of the bed. If you have the same you could run the wires up the back of those then drill a hole through the roof.

You could also mount it near the license plate frame, that should be pretty easy.

Nice blog, I have not installed mine yet, will do when I need new tires. Trailer is only 5 months old. I just purchased a TST system for now, and use the wireless camera that came with the 17 Classic

Matt, thanks for the nice write up! How did you secure the sensor receiver to the A frame, with zip ties or self tapping screws?

I secured mine with large zip ties and placed the signal pickup box to the center of the forward axle.Works great.

Thanks for the reply, Moflash. Noticed your hometown of Springfield. I’ve been there many times. I’m originally from Mountain Home, AR.

Haven’t been to Mountain Home since the 70’s but I remember it being a nice little town.
