2015 Ford F-150 2.7 V6 EcoBoost a TV for 19' FC?

We have a 2015 F-150 crew cab 5.5 bed with RWD, 2.7 V6 EcoBoost, 3.31 Electronic lock RR axle, tow haul selector, Trailer Tow Package and the 6,250# GVWR package. Chief is used to having a F-350 4WD crew cab, long bed diesel to pull and stop anything he tows so he's not real positive our F-150 is enough truck to pull and stop a new 19' Flying Cloud. I hope it is. Any opinions? Thanks!

With the 3.31 it'll be shifting more than it might, but if you have Ford's tow package then you have the extra transmission cooling and the wiring for the 7-pin. If the truck was not equipped with Ford's integrated brake controller, you can buy the part and have a Ford dealer reeducate the computer to recognize the brake controller.

There are some other considerations like wheels and tires, and you'd be better off with the 3.73 axle in the smaller Ecoboost but for a 19' it should do fine with proper equipment. "Run what you brung" for a while and see if it suits you.

You should have no problem towing with that. I have the larger ecoboost, but have seen many others on another forum who tow with the 2.7 and love it.

Thanks for the feedback. Chief said the exact same thing that it would be better to have a 3.73 rear end but we got a STEAL of a DEAL when we bought the F-150 new in 2016. It was loaded but had the 3.31. Chief's a diesel man but has really enjoyed this 1/2 ton truck, especially the 26 mpg. We've sold our 2008 Classic 25 FB and are looking to down size for our 4th Airstream with the 19' FC and the 16' Sport. Really like the trim package of the FC better. Having owner two previous Classics, we really miss the rock guards and rear bumper on the Sports.

I, a female, pulled our 25' Sierra all over the Northeastern states with a 1/2 ton Chev Z71, with a tow package - but nothing else, special, that I know of. Did a great job. Just no problems with wind push or pull. Did use a sway bar ( or whatever that apparatus is called). I do travel the interstates, but try to see the country on the 2 lane roads. The Airstreams pull so very well, track well, etc. Did not pull into the Northwest mountain area. Best wishes

Your truck should be fine towing your 19'.
I've towed my 2015 19' Int. Serenity, 38,000 miles all over the contiguous 48 with a FWD Ram 1500 Promaster powered by a 4 cylinder, 3.0 liter diesel. It has averaged 20.6 mpg towing the AS and 26 mpg without the trailer. Ideally I cruise at 62 mph, 1,750 rpm which seems to be the engines happy place. The rig weighs 10,600 lbs.

I have a 2016 Chevy Colorado with a 2.8 turbo diesel. It is a mid-size, but it pulls great. Check out Colorado on the IKE site.

I have been towing my 25FB Classic over 25,000 miles with my 2012 F150 eclo boost no problems. We do a lot of driving in Colo.

I think in 2012 the EB came in only one size.
