2014 ML350 - AS FC19 Tow Combo

Ahoy.....
Is anyone out there using a post 2012 ML350 as a tow vehicle for an Airstream Flying Cloud 19? If yes how is it going? Do you employ a WD hitch?
Thanks
D

Don't know if it helps, but I tow a '90 25' Excella with a 2006 ML500 and Blue Ox WD hitch. Six thousands miles around the Western U.S. And seems to be a good combination so far.

We tow a 25' Airstream with a 2014 ML350 Bluetec using a ProPride hitch. We love the way the ML rides when towing and think the ProPride is worth every dollar. You'll want to use a WD hitch with sway control. PM me if you'd like to know more.

We tow a 2012 25'FB Twin with our 14 ML350 Bluetec and it does a wonderful job. We have just sold the 25' and are moving up to a 2015 30' Bunk and plan on using the ML350.

You are limited in tongue weight (560lb if I remember correctly), but I would suspect the 19' would be under the limit. MB/(all German auto makers) frown on the use of a WD. VW expressly prohibits its use.

I as well as many others had our hitch reinforced at CanAm RV.

We also had our 2014 ML350 Bluetec hitch reinforced at CanAm last spring. Andy said we didn't need anything bigger than the Eaz-lift hitch for our 19 footer. We're newbies and have nothing to compare it to but are very happy with the set up.

We towed a 2007 20' Safari with a ml500 for seven years and loved the combination. Used a Reese dual cam.

Gotta chance to pick up a '12 blu tek.

I know I can get a wt. disturb. hitch installed when I buy the trailer. Tintini found a place in the east bay. If I end up buying this now, I need to be surf it has all the towing required items already built into the car
.

Can anyone give me the done and dirty list of items that must be on the ml 350. Blu tek so, If I buy, I'm not screwing myself up vis a vis my plan to tow with it

I've got an 08 with my classic 30. I've been coast to coast with it. It has been at Malibu beach and the Outer Banks. It has been to PEI 3 times as well as Cape Breton and the coast of Maine. I've towed over Tioga pass and the Allegheny's.
All the setup was done at CanAm RV. They strengthened the factory hitch and setup both the Hensley and the EAZ lift. The 08 is not as powerful as the 12's and certainly as fuel efficient. So far no regrets.
